The Environmental Services Department was awarded solid waste grant funds through the North Central Texas Council of Governments from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for a project to address litter along certain major rights of way. The funds requested through the grant program were to help offset the cost of an initial cleanup of all roadways to establish a baseline condition. A request for proposals was advertised and proposals were received and read aloud on April 14, 2026. There was only one response to the request from Adopt a Highway Maintenance Corporation. Since 2023, the City of Mansfield has installed an impressive light display during the holiday season from Hometown Holidays until January 6th. The display includes a 40ft tall Christmas Tree, many wrapped or up-lit trees, and several large-scale interactive lighted decor pieces. This year's contract is a renewal of our 2025 holiday light contract. The price and project scope remains the same as last year, however we will have new and different large-scale decor items.

The Staybolt South Campus infrastructure project, as part of TIRZ #4, is moving forward in construction to extend Heritage Parkway across the floodplain approximately 1/2 mile South. This infrastructure supports the Homestead at Staybolt single-family neighborhood as well as the additional approximately 65 acres of land owned by the City of Mansfield along Highway 360. To remain flexible, a minimally viable roadway segment was initially designed to support the secondary ingress and egress to the single-family neighborhood, connecting Highway 360 directly to Heritage Parkway South.
